Photography Workshops

In-person photography workshops

Photography isn’t about having the most expensive camera or gear. It’s about understanding light, making creative decisions, and learning how those choices shape the final image.

One of the things I enjoy most about photography is slowing down and really observing what’s around me — waiting for the right moment with wildlife, noticing the shape of a tree in good light, or finding a different perspective in an everyday scene.

My workshops are built around the way I approach photography myself. We’ll go through camera settings, techniques and creative choices together, and walk through how each decision changes the image you end up with.

Each workshop covers a specific area of photography. Whether you’re just starting out, want to get better at wildlife or bird photography, are drawn to nature photography, or want to learn how I edit my own images — the goal is the same: to help you understand photography a bit better and feel more confident making decisions behind the camera.

Available Photography Workshops

Here’s what I currently teach. Have a look through and see what fits what you’re hoping to learn.

Introduction to Photography Workshop

A good place to start if you want to understand the fundamentals and how your camera settings affect the final image.

Wildlife Photography Workshop

Working on the techniques behind better wildlife images: camera settings, movement, light, and making quick decisions as conditions change.

Bird Photography Workshop

For photographers who want to get better at photographing birds — fast, small, and often unpredictable subjects.

Tree Photography Workshop

A nature-focused session on composition, light, and finding creative ways to photograph trees and natural scenes.

Photo Editing Workshop

I’ll walk you through how I edit my own images, from the RAW file through to the finished photograph.

  • Editing tailored to trees — bringing out texture, contrast and natural colour in your photos.

What you'll need

  • A computer with editing software installed
  • A tripod if you have one — I’ll bring a spare if you don’t
  • An eye for detail and a bit of patience with nature

  • Black and white conversions.
  • Sharpening, noise control and exporting.
  • Finding your own editing style, rather than copying a preset.

What you'll need

  • A computer with editing software installed
  • Some of your own RAW images to work on

Price

R3,295 per person

  • 3 hours of editing training.

Why I Teach This Way

I’ve been doing photography professionally for over a decade, across wildlife, landscapes, portraits and post-processing — so what I teach comes from things I’ve run into myself.

Every session is one-on-one or small group, shaped around your camera, your skill level, and what you’re actually trying to get better at.

We learn by doing — you’ll be out shooting, adjusting, and seeing the results in real time.

I teach in Centurion, Pretoria, Johannesburg and the surrounding areas. If you’re more than 50km from Centurion, there may be a small travel fee — just ask and I’ll let you know.

A Bit About Me

Hi, I’m Anton — I work across wildlife, landscapes, aviation and editing. I enjoy teaching because I like helping people get past the parts of photography that feel confusing or technical, and start enjoying the process.

If you’d like to learn something specific, or you’re just not sure where to start, feel free to get in touch and we can figure out what makes sense for you.
