Photography has been a large part of my life for many years, both as a profession and as a way of exploring the world around me. I work across a range of subjects, from people and commercial work to wildlife, nature and aircraft, and each brings something different to the process of making an image. I’m interested in the details, atmosphere and character that make a photograph feel like more than simply a record of what was in front of the camera.

My own photographic work takes me into very different environments, from the quiet simplicity of trees and landscapes to the unpredictability of wildlife and the speed and precision of aviation photography. I enjoy the challenge of adapting to each situation and finding a way to work with the available light, movement and surroundings. Wildlife photography and nature photography have become an important part of that work, while aviation photography offers an entirely different kind of challenge.

Teaching photography has become an equally important part of what I do. I enjoy taking the technical side of photography and making it easier to understand, whether someone is learning how their camera works or trying to get more from the equipment and knowledge they already have. Through photography courses, workshops and one-on-one camera training, I focus on helping people understand the decisions behind a photograph rather than simply telling them which settings to use.
