Photography Courses
Photography courses and one-on-one camera lessons with Anton Guyt. Learn how your camera works, understand the decisions behind a photograph, and develop greater confidence in your photography. Training is available for beginners as well as photographers who already understand the basics and want to develop their skills further.
Learn photography with greater confidence
Photography becomes easier to understand when you can ask questions, work through your own camera settings and see how different decisions affect the photograph. My courses focus on understanding those decisions.
Every course is taught by Anton Guyt, a photographer with more than 10 years of professional experience. The training focuses on understanding photography — from light, exposure and composition to making deliberate creative decisions. Along the way, you learn how those principles apply to your own camera and the way you photograph.
- Guidance for your camera
- Time to practise what you learn
- Feedback on your photographs
- Clear, easy-to-understand explanations
- Support after the course
Three ways to learn.

What the training is designed to help you understand
The courses are designed to help you understand photography rather than simply follow a set of instructions. The focus is on connecting what you learn with the camera you use and the photographs you want to make.
The courses give you time to work with your own camera while learning how different settings and decisions affect the photograph. The aim is to help you understand what you are doing rather than simply follow a set of instructions.
Anton brings more than 10 years of professional photography experience to the courses, with an emphasis on explaining how photographic decisions work in real shooting situations.
The training is based around the camera you use. This makes it easier to connect the explanation with the controls, menus and settings you see in front of you.
The fundamentals apply across photography, but your questions may come from the subjects you enjoy photographing. There is room to discuss the situations and techniques that are most relevant to you.
Beginners often find that their camera seems more complicated than it really is. Understanding what the main settings do and when to use them can make photography much easier to approach.
Questions often come up after a course when you start using what you have learned on your own. You can get in touch with questions and continue developing your photography from there.
One-on-one or small group
The courses are available as one-on-one lessons or in small groups. Both formats cover the relevant course material, while the choice depends on whether you prefer individual attention or learning alongside other photographers.
One-on-One Photography Lessons
Focused attention for the full session. The training can be centred around your camera, your questions and the areas of photography you want to understand.
- The session is focused on your camera and learning needs
- Notes and guidance for your specific camera
- Go at your own pace — slower on what's unclear, faster where you're strong
- Ask anything, any time, without holding back
- Flexible scheduling to suit your availability and location
Small Group Photography Courses
Learn alongside fellow photography enthusiasts in a relaxed, supportive environment. Groups are kept to a maximum of 4 students — small enough that you still get individual attention, direct feedback on your own images, and guidance based on the camera you use.
- Maximum 4 students per session — small by design
- Individual feedback on your images and your specific camera
- Learn from fellow students' questions and challenges
- Hands-on shooting time with live guidance throughout
- Supportive, encouraging environment for all skill levels
What students say about Anton's photography courses
"Anton was amazing for my individual course. He was patient and covered all the basics in camera functions. He went through different lighting variations, such as bright sunshine, overcast and darker conditions showing exactly what camera settings were appropriate to obtain great pictures. We also did a walk about with practical application, capturing photos of birds in light and shade, using metering to alter settings accordingly. I had a great morning, leaving me more comfortable and confident in my camera settings to take better photos. Thanks so much."
"Anton has such a warm and kind energy. He is super patient and really wants his students to do well. I loved his notes on both the principles of photography and specific notes on my camera. He keeps the instructions very simple and you focus on the key principles to get the best photos. Highly recommend Anton for a one-on-one lesson."
"The Nikon DSLR course with Anton Guyt was a rich and fulfilling experience. Four hours of training have resulted in my greater mastery of the technical aspects of photography. I developed enough confidence to photograph even in difficult nighttime conditions, with success. Anton is highly competent, very clear in his explanations and provides hands-on experience. He transmits genuine enthusiasm which I found truly inspiring."
"Best experience, highly recommended."

Which photography course should I start with?
If you are new to photography or still rely mainly on Auto mode, the Basic Photography Course is the best place to start. If you already understand the fundamentals and want to develop your photography further, the Advanced Photography Course may be more suitable. The Photo Editing Course can be taken at any level.
What camera do I need for the photography courses?
You can bring the camera you already use. Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus and Panasonic cameras can all be covered. The course focuses on understanding photography while also helping you understand the settings and controls of your own camera.
How long are the photography courses?
Course duration depends on the programme. The Basic Photography Course typically runs for 4–5 hours, the Advanced Photography Course is similar in length, and the Photo Editing Course is around 3 hours. Each individual course page provides more detail about what is covered.
Do you offer one-on-one photography lessons?
Yes. All of the courses can be taken as one-on-one training. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions, work at your own pace and spend more time on the areas of photography you want to understand.
Are the photography courses suitable for beginners?
Yes. The Basic Photography Course is designed for people who are new to photography or who have a camera but are not yet comfortable with the main settings. You do not need previous photography experience to attend.
Can I do more than one photography course?
Yes. Courses can be combined depending on what you want to learn. A beginner might start with the Basic Photography Course and later take the Photo Editing Course, while a more experienced photographer may choose the Advanced Photography Course.
Is the training available on weekdays and weekends?
Yes. Training can be arranged on weekdays or weekends, subject to availability. When you enquire, you can indicate your preferred days and location.
